Michael Petersen established himself as the best breaststroke swimmer in Pasadena City College's storied history in men's swimming as he broke two school records at the 3C2A State Championship meet held at Santa Rosa Junior College May 1-3.
Michael Petersen completed the meet as a double champion as Pasadena City College placed fifth at the South Coast Conference Swim/Dive Championships held April 17-19 at East Los Angeles' Swim Stadium.
Michael Petersen broke a 17-year-old Pasadena City College school record in the 100-yard breaststroke and became the Lancers first South Coast Conference event champion since 2018 at the SCC Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday at East Los Angeles College.
Led by two event wins by Michael Petersen, the Pasadena City College men's swim team placed third out of seven scoring teams at the annual ELAC/Pasadena Invitational held at ELAC's Swim Stadium on April 3-5.
Michael Petersen and Evan Yi each won three events as the Pasadena City College men's swim team split their final South Coast Conference double dual meet, defeating Chaffey, 131-126, and losing to host El Camino, 157-97, on Friday.
The squad of Michael Petersen, Javier Becerra, Evan Yi, and Nick Padilla won the 200-yard medley relay race as one of six event victories captured by the Pasadena CIty College men's swim team at a South Coast Conference double dual meet held at Long Beach City College on March 21.
